A man has been captured regarding the assault and murder of a 17-year-old young lady in north London in 1982, the Metropolitan Police said.
Yiannoulla Yianni's body was found by herhttp://loop.frontiersin.org/people/307425/bio family at their home in Belsize Road, Hampstead.
The 56-year-old man from Golders Green, captured on Tuesday, has been kept on a random matter, police said.
Yiannoulla was an understudy of Quintin Kynaston School in St John's Wood.
Relating the occasions of 13 August 1982, police said the youngster had spent the morning at home with her mom before they went to the family's shop close-by at around 12:30 BST to eat with Yiannoulla's dad and sibling.
Family "crushed"
Around an hour later the schoolgirl returned home to get ready supper while her mom stayed back at the shop.
Her guardians discovered her body when they returned home at around 15:00 that evening, police said. She had been assaulted and choked.
Det Insp Julie Willats, of the Met's Homicide and Major Crime Command, said: "The Met never close unsolved killings and paying little mind to the progression of time cases can andhttp://jntuupdatesall.hatenablog.com/ will be audited, for any new chances to grow beforehand obscure lines of enquiry, and follow-up any new data which has ended up known not.
"Yiannoulla's family - who naturally are still crushed by the loss of their darling girl and sister over three decades prior - have been completely educated of this new advancement."
More than 1,000 witness articulations were taken for the situation which has been occasionally audited, however a capture has never been made as of recently.
